New Facade by Giuseppe Lo Schiavo

pr sito

Inspired by surrealists such as Rene Magritte, Salvador Dali and Marcel Duchamp, Italian photographer Giuseppe Lo Schiavo has created collages of windows from some Europe’s favourite cities- London, Paris and Rome. Lo Schiavo said: “Every window is placed harmonically in a new facade. Democratically, reminiscent of the experiments of rationalism, the windows consist of a unique entity, carrying with them their own history and beauty. The contemporary style that is applied on this interpretation reminds us of the decomposition of a picture in digital pixels, with a uniform pattern that forms shapes.” I like how it shows the different shapes and colours from city to city- London has lots of deep reds and browns, and uniform square and rectangles, while Rome and Paris has more grander, ornate windows, with muted colours and wooden shutters.
