Fou de Feu, set up by Belgium-based ceramist Veerle van Overloop, means ‘crazy for fire’. She has just unveiled a new collection of lighting and objects based on the shapes of a soap bubble and old forms from the textile industry.

Van Overloop says she has a passion for clay: “it was passed to me by a passionate teacher at secondary school. They kindled the fire in my heart for ceramics so I could do nothing but follow that passion. My heart was full of wonder about how you can create beautiful shapes from a blog of clay. It’s plasticity has something magic”.
