French design duo Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have unveiled a new collection for Danish furniture manufacturer HAY. The furniture collection for the University of Copenhagen in Denmark includes a wooden chair, a bar stool and several tables.

The starting point for this series is based on an old university chair, inspired by the architect Bernt Pedersen’s trestle chair. Due to the symmetrical frames, the chairs and tables both stack vertically. They say:

This chair is a simple and beautiful chair with an uncomplicated identity. In our interpretation we have upheld the original chair typology and sought to maintain the compelling simplicity of the original chair.
