Dutch designer Pepe Heykoop has created these fab paper vase covers that can be manually shaped and placed over a bottle. They’re currently on sale (and slightly reduced online) in London’s Aram Store.

Produced in association with Tiny Miracles Foundation, which was set up by the designer’s cousin, each vase is hand-folded by local women from the Pardeshi community who live on the streets of the red light district in Mumbai, India. Workers are paid above market standard salaries and the Foundation provides education to their children and healthcare. Each vase helps towards its aim to get the community out of poverty by 2020.

The paper vases come in a matching A4-sized envelope and can be folded in countless ways to create your desired vase. They have them in green, grey and silver as well as with a motif of Vermeer’s milkmaid. I went for the grey (of course) and I’m really pleased with the result. Check it out below.
