The daily ritual of coffee making with Stelton - the Theo range by Stelton

The daily ritual of coffee making with Stelton

I used to hate the taste of coffee, now I can’t get enough of the stuff. My morning coffee is one of my favourite moments of the day and one of the first things I do when I wake up – a few quiet minutes of calm just to myself, to slowly wake up and come to before the day really begins. During the week I’m a get-up-and-go kind of girl, the more time spent in bed the better, so a quick touch of my coffee machine is my saviour. At the weekends, the pace slows down and I can brew a large, steaming pot to treasure over a big pile of books and magazines in bed. As my coffee habits have grown and matured, so has my eye for all the paraphernalia that comes with it – amassing dozens of teacups and mugs in all shapes and sizes, French presses and milk jugs in the process. But I always ended up using the same cup day in day out. Now, instead of leaving all the best …

#thesimpleeveryday round-up – October 2016

I’m very excited to say that I’m off to Australia for three weeks for a much-needed holiday and dose of vitamin D! There’ll still be a few posts going live on here while I’m away, but I thought I’d leave you with some of my favourite picks from #thesimpleeveryday hashtag on Instagram. The hashtag has now been going for two months (you can see my favourites from September here) and we’re nearly up to 500 images! I love checking the feed each day, being surprised and inspired by the delights it holds. I’ve discovered new accounts I didn’t follow before, gained new perspectives of everyday moments and got to see a little of the world through other people’s very imaginative eyes. This month, as the days have been getting colder and the evenings darker, there’s definitely been an autumnal feed to the images. Just looking at them makes me want to curl up on a cosy sheepskin rug, put the candles on and sip a steaming mug of hot coffee, gazing out at the wind …

#thesimpleeveryday a round-up – September 2016

It’s been a month now since I started #thesimpleeveryday hashtag on Instagram, I’ve loved seeing you share your everyday calm, minimal moments, so I thought I’d do a little round-up of my favourite images that have been shared so far. As a reminder, #thesimpleeveryday is all about seeking a moment of calm in the mundane of the everyday – to take a moment out of our busy schedules to simply slow down and appreciate the little things. It’s finding a way to uplift our daily lives, whether it’s focusing more intently on everyday rituals, savouring a little quiet time to ourselves in a busy day, or simply being more aware of the spaces we’re inhabiting. Really, it’s about simply celebrating the everyday but also to trying to find simplicity every day. I’ve certainly found it’s helped me focus everyday, to clear some of the clutter in my brain and be more conscious of what I buy, where I go and what I do. For example, it’s trying not to flick through my phone when I’m having a cup of coffee but actually …

New Instagram hashtag – #thesimpleeveryday

I’ve been wanting to start a new hashtag on Instagram for ages, but could never think of the right one. But, then you know when you have those brilliant ideas in the shower? Well, I’ve come up with one which I think everyone can relate to. Let me introduce you to #thesimpleeveryday. It’s what I’ve been striving for and moving further towards both on my blog and on Instagram (find me here) – finding a way to uplift and celebrate the everyday. #thesimpleeveryday is all about seeking a moment of calm in the mundane of the everyday – to take a moment out of our busy schedules to simply slow down and appreciate the little things, whether it’s a quiet coffee in the morning (one of my favourite times of the day), or the light streaming through the window in the evening, reading the papers on a Sunday morning or appreciating a fresh vase of blooms that make you smile. It might be a beautiful, minimal design object sitting on a nice clean shelf, fresh crisp …
