I wish you all a happy weekend! Here’s three things you could be doing in London: an exhibition on The Moomins creator Tove Jansson, an exhibition reflecting on the transience of rented accommodation in cities across the world today, and a rooftop film screening in Peckham.

What: A House is Not a Hotel
Where: Pi Artworks, London
When: Until September 10
We move from city to city, rented accommodation to rented accommodation at an ever-increasing pace. For those that can take advantage of it, this freedom of movement opens up exciting and liberating opportunities while for others it ebbs at the sense of security that stability and continuity can bring. Nevertheless, for both of these groups, their relationship with the places in which they live is rapidly changing, and is increasingly one that is defined by transience. This exhibition presents the work of six artists – Steven Morgana, Christian Newby, Lisa Slominski, Theodoros Stamatogiannis, Farniyaz Zaker – who deal with the house/home/dwelling place and the relationship we have with it.

There’s lots of outdoor film screenings this summer in London. This one is situated on a 5,000 square-foot panoramic rooftop—with 360 degree views of London. Film lovers can enjoy cold drinks and watch their favourite films with high quality wireless headphones and deckchairs, there’s also blankets if you need them. This weekend they are showing The Motorcycle Diaries and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, while next weekend there’s The Notebook, Her and The Big Lebowski.
