Spring ikebana-inspired florals 🌼 I had a larger b Spring ikebana-inspired florals 🌼 I had a larger bouquet that was getting a bit past its best, so I took the freshest stems and created this little arrangement using a shallow vase and a Japanese flower frog, otherwise known as a kenzan, to keep the stems upright and in place. What I learnt about ikebana for my book The Japandi Home is that it’s all about balance and asymmetry, you don’t want it to look like a perfect arrangement - even though carefully placed, it needs to look a little natural and sculptural, as if arrangement itself is alive and has come from the ground. What do you think? 💚
[Ad] The sunnier weather and shift in seasons call [Ad] The sunnier weather and shift in seasons calls for a Spring reset to freshen things up 🌿 In a mindful nod to Earth Day today, I’ve been switching things up and trying some bamboo bedding. @pandalondon Signature+ Bamboo Lyocell bedding is incredibly soft and tactile, like sinking into luxurious, silky smooth sheets. There’s a lot to love about bamboo - it’s breathable, hypoallergenic and best of all, eco-friendly 🎍 It’s a great sustainable alternative to cotton as it uses considerably less water, doesn’t need pesticides or harmful chemicals to grow, and is harvested in a way that allows it to regenerate again and again without re-planting. It comes in two colours: Pebble Cream and Forest Green (there was no debate for me!). The green has completely lifted this space and I’ve fallen back in love with this room. A little change that goes a long way, would you consider making the swap this Earth Day? 💚
