We recently had a website come round for a home tour; while I love our light, south-facing living room and bedrooms, it made me realise just how dark and small my kitchen is. It’s a galley kitchen, at the back of the property, with hardly any access to natural daylight – Oh how I would love to have a complete kitchen makeover.
I’ve been mulling over my dream design. In an ideal (completely fantasy) world, I’d have a large open-plan living space with floor to ceiling windows and a super modern dark kitchen. I really love the trend for dark walls at the moment, but thought it could equally transfer to kitchen units. Having dark units contrasts beautifully with clean, pure white walls, shiny stainless steel and natural wooden details. They just look so sleek and streamlined, especially when there are no door handles, or minimalist, discreet ones at that.
Here I’ve gathered some wonderful dark minimalist kitchen ideas I would love to pinch for myself, so have a gander and enjoy!
