London based practice Carmody Groarke has recently been commended by the Architects’ Journal for their artist’s workshop for Anthony Gormley as part of the AJ Small Projects Awards. The project consists of a new galvanised-steel plated building with spaces for making and storying work, which is set within the sculpture courtyard of the studio originally designed by David Chipperfield Architects.
