Cloudy House is a two-storey pitched roof house in Oita-city by Japanese architect Takao Shiotsuka. The building is called Cloudy House due to the small hole on the roof to allow occupiers to glimpse their surroundings from a higher level, “the house as an open state” as the architect describes. From the ground floor, the house is divided into two with an indoor courtyard and two different entrances, making the building appear fairly public. The opening up of the building is further added to with protruding roof windows and a plywood interior, allowing the light to bounce around the upper level bedrooms.
