Although it seems as if this house in Saka by Suppose Design Office is sealed away from the exterior world, the building, both on plan and in elevation, twists in subtle ways to allow light to filter into the interior. The ground floor has been sunk by 0.8m in order for the people inside and outside not to be at the same level; reducing pedestrians peering into the house which is situated on ‘a leftover plot’ of a site, awkwardly standing between two meeting streets.
