I first discovered the Tumblr ‘Maddie on Things’ last March. It’s a remarkable blog dedicated to photographer Theron Humphrey‘s pet coonhound Maddie, who magically perches on all manner of things, from basketball nets and bookcases to coffee tables and cars. The images were taken in Humphrey’s spare time while on a year long, cross-country trip for a photojournalism project. Following the success of the blog, Humphrey (or should I say Maddie) has released a book, called ‘Maddie on Things: A Super Serious Project About Dogs and Physics’. He’s also started making some more humorous portraits of long-suffering Maddie, such as a series of Halloween images with Maddie in costume as different characters.
