Austrian-born furniture designer and maker Alexander Mueller has created a handmade furniture series which explores geometric lines and movement using interwoven strings. Inspired by childhood spirographs and Russian sculptor Naum Gabo’s ‘Construction in Space’, the chairs are made of waxed cord that is weaved to form seats within an ash timber structure. The geometric seating pattern is created by deconstructing traditional weaving methods and examining the relationship between frame, cord and end user.
