The Carpenter Collection, designed by Philadelphia-based product designer Lorenzo Buffa, is a line of wooden watches designed with a soft and flexible wooden strap. It was launched on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter and has, so far, been funded by nearly $70,000, $60,000 more than its original goal of just $10,000.
The Analog Watch Co team have spent the last year working on the all-natural wooden watch, firstly with sketching out designs, researching and experimenting with different woods, and then building prototype after prototype by hand to develop the final designs. The final watch uses a CNC machine to precisely carve out the interior and the exterior of the watch body.
They say:
“What started as a project of passion, has turned into a bigger brand built around using unique and natural materials, with a focus on a highly refined design process. We think the simple, clean and iconic design highlights the all-wood grain.”
