Stop Look Listen: Three things to do this week

It’s a bit late this week, but everyone’s a bit more relaxed when it’s the start of the summer right?! My pick of three things to do this week includes a Scandinavian pop-up exhibition and cafe, a rooftop park with yoga and swing dance classes and London Festival of Architecture.

What: designjunction’s Scandinavian pop-up
Where: Platform Gallery, Habitat, London
When: 6-29 June

For the month of June, design and culture exhibition designjunction is transforming Habitat’s Platform gallery on the King’s Road into a Scandinavian midsummer pop-up exhibition and cafe experience. It will showcase the latest products from leading Danish, Swedish, Finnish and Norwegian brands, including Fritz Hansen, Hay, Muuto and Iittala, all staged within a woodland-inspired setting. The cafe will serve authentic dishes such as smoked salmon on dark rye bread, Norwegian waffles and cloudberry jam doughnuts. As many readers might imagine, I can’t wait for this one!

What: Dalston Roof Park
Where: Dalston, London
When: all summer

Dalston Roof Park, an urban oasis overlooking London’s skyline, has a tip-top schedule of events this month, from yoga classes and film screenings to swing dancing and delicious food rustled up by Merci Marie (see my review here). It is of course also open for a cooling beverage or drinks after work with friends!

What: London Festival of Architecture
Where: across London
When: the month of June

The tenth edition of the London Festival of Architecture kicks off this week and lasts the whole month of June. There are events across the city, from exhibitions and installations to talks, debates and film screenings. For example, Thomas Heatherwick will be talking about his Garden Bridge planned for the Thames, there’s a bus tour on an old Routemaster, and there is also a floating cinema moored near the Balfron Tower. For the full list of events see London Architecture Diary.
