8 seconds of calm for a Tuesday evening 🌿 that 8 seconds of calm for a Tuesday evening 🌿 that is all 💚 #thesimpleeveryday
Close ups don’t tend to do very well on Insta an Close ups don’t tend to do very well on Insta and a bit late to posting this morning, but I love this little corner with my piles of books and the green view. Wishing you all a lovely new week! ☕️ #thesimpleeveryday
Another one of the kitchen because I’ve been a l Another one of the kitchen because I’ve been a library hermit for the past few days and hardly been at home. As someone who works by themselves it’s quite nice to get out of the house 😅 anyway good news: it’s not January anymore!!! 🥳 that’s something to celebrate. I hope February is kind to you 💚
Where my fellow introverts at 🙋🏼‍♀️ I Where my fellow introverts at 🙋🏼‍♀️ I used to think of it as a weakness, I would say ‘I’m shy’, but I’ve learnt to see my need for reflection and quiet as a powerful inner strength that is as useful in the world as extroversion.

The word introvert originally comes from the Latin introvertere – intro means ‘to the inside’, while vertere means ‘to turn’. It was used in the 17th century to describe turning your thoughts inwards in spiritual contemplation.

Introverts can be sociable in the right setting, and some might even be ambiverts (a bit of both), but they typically gain energy from within rather than from other people. They’re not shouting the loudest but that doesn’t mean they don’t have anything interesting to say. In fact there’s probably a lot going round their head!

My neutral home helps me recharge my introvert batteries so I can go back into the world with renewed energy. It quietens the fog of conversation in my brain and allows me space to dream 🤍
I shot this portrait a while ago for a magazine an I shot this portrait a while ago for a magazine and never shared it here, so thought I’d do a little re-intro with a few facts that no one asked for 😄🫶🏼 (I could edit a reel like lots of people have done but a still is just soooo much easier):
1. I studied architecture but never became an architect - I used to think that was a big failure but now I do something I love that I could never have imagined doing (writing, interior styling and consulting) 📐
2. I have synesthesia and see words and numbers as colours 💚
3. I’m a pretty classic Virgo as you can probably tell from my tidy home 😂
4. I don’t like cats (sorry!!!), I’m a dog person through and through 🐶
5. I’m an introvert and love spending time by myself, sometimes I might like it a bit too much! 🛋️
6. Which goes with the above: one of my biggest weaknesses is that I think I can do everything myself and hate asking for help. But it’s also true that your strengths can be your weaknesses and visa versa 💪🏼
7. My pet hate is indecision 😵‍💫
8. I may look organised and everything but I live very much in the moment and don’t know what I’m doing more than two weeks in advance 🤪
9. I’m a mother but I don’t like to think that defines my identity 👧🏼
10. My biggest fear is sitting in a group of people and being asked to go round and say ‘something interesting’ about yourself 🫣😂
Say hi 👋🏼 or give me a follow if you too like simple, relaxed, neutral interiors with a touch of calm 🤍
I woke up today thinking it was Friday 🤦🏼‍ I woke up today thinking it was Friday 🤦🏼‍♀️ anyway, here’s a photo dump of recent inspiration, both from inside and outside 🫶🏼 have a good Thursday! (Got it right that time)
