So, it’s March and here’s my Styling the Seasons for this month! While January was clean and minimal, representing a fresh start to the year, and February was floral and romantic, March has a touch of Spring in the air. I was beginning to run out of surfaces to style, so chose the chest of drawers and shelving in my bedroom – it’s right next to the window so get’s all the lovely light and sunshine, which is finally beginning to come our way (yay for lighter evenings!).
March is a caring month for me, with Mother’s Day right around the corner next week. I thought I would pay a little homage to my own mummy by framing one of my favourite black and white pics of her (she’s probably going to hate me for sharing it, but I think she just looks so damn effortlessly cool!) and styling it with some of her favourite books (Virginia Woolf mainly) and some lovely plants any mother would be happy to receive on the day. The Muscari photographed so well, their tiny, magical, urn-shaped flowers were just starting to come out and open up. Some drooped down so quickly I had to quickly keep them upright in an old ‘lung tonic’ bottle! The old marmalade jar, old toothpaste pot and teacup were vintage finds from our various rummages at vintage flea markets and antique fairs – one of our favourite past times to do together.
So, what does March mean to you? What will you be doing for Mother’s Day?
