From the 3rd to the 26th of June, StolenSpace Gallery on Brick Lane will be showcasing the latest work from artists Kai and Sunny. Their intricate, natural and sometimes sinister work has earned them commissions for David Mitchell book covers, art direction for Alexander McQueen and advertising campaigns for global brands such as Apple. The show at the StolenSpace Gallery features intricate monochrome silkscreened images which explore the structure, shape and complexity of flowers. As part of the exhibition, the multidisciplinary duo are selling the below A3 limited edition box set featuring delicately letter-pressed images with a new story by award-winning author David Mitchell. As described by Kai; “We loved the idea of marrying literature with our images. Sunny and I are both huge fans of David Mitchell’s work and because of our history with him, having designed covers for his books, we felt it was right to approach him for this project. We sent over our images and asked if he’d be interested in writing a short story exclusively for us based on the images. We were so pleased he agreed and even more happy when we read the story – it sits with the images perfectly.”
