The architecture of vacuums by Frank Halmans

Earlier in the week I featured a post on Frank Halmans’s artwork Built of Books. The Dutch artist has used working vacuums here, transforming them into apartments that represent our households and personal space. Halmans has used an appliance typically used for cleaning away dirt. The vacuums have been given a new lease of life- becoming domestic spaces collecting debris- to illustrate the build up of material we collect in our homes.
