This week’s Stop Look Listen is a London Design Festival special (taking place across London from 14-22 September). There’s a wealth of events, talks and exhibitions going on and to make it a bit easier here’s three things you really should go and see.
STOP
What: Endless Stair by dRMM
Where: Tate Modern
When: Until October 10
One of the stars of London Design Festival is dRMM’s Endless Stair, which will take up residence on the lawn in front of Tate Modern. The temporary installation, designed to be endlessly reconfigured, is made of cross-laminated American tulipwood and has a total of 187 steps to climb and explore.
LOOK
What: Exploded: Works on paper from the Nigel Coates archive
Where: Nigel Coates office, South Kensington
When: Until September 22
With many works shown for the first time, this exhibition displays a series of architectural drawings by Nigel Coates from the 1980s.
LISTEN
What: Omega Workshops
Where: The Courtauld Gallery, London
When: September 19, 7.00-9.00pm
A rare glimpse behind the scenes as curator Alexandra Gerstein will show original Omega Workshops designs (from the Bloomsbury group artists) in the Prints and Drawings Room at The Courtauld Gallery. There is also a painted objects masterclass with Sophie Coryndon beforehand. Book here.
