Take a moment: five things that caught my eye this week

Here’s a pick of some of the posts, videos and articles I enjoyed the most on my favourite blogs and design websites this week. Have a good weekend and enjoy!

1. In the debut of a new video series, The Decoration of Houses on the New York Times magazine website, interior designer Rita Konig takes a trip to the Lacy Gallery in West London to have a print of a red onion by the artist Rory McEwen framed. Along the way, she shares some tips on picture framing, then goes on to offer a few thoughtful pointers on picture hanging as well. Watch the video here.

2. The world’s obsession with typography just reached a whole new level: Japanese opticians Type has taken the two most-used fonts and turned their typographical features into glasses frames. See the article on Smith magazine here.

3. A delicious and warming recipe for lemon spiced pear tea from Kinfolk issue five. See it here.

4. Cereal magazine’s new travel guides, my favourite was of course London: it features my frequent haunts, including Workshop Coffee, Margaret Howell and Daunt Books. And if you haven’t read Cereal check it out and nine other independent magazines I recommend here.
