Polish company Boomini, founded by interior designer Joanna Kruszec, creates modern dollhouses. They’re not just any old dollhouses– Victorian affairs with chintz furniture and patterned wallpaper– but miniature versions of stylish Scandinavian homes, complete with trendy accessories and Ikea-esque furniture. They come in either white MDF or plywood, and all the furniture is moveable and work– drawers and cupboards open. Kruszec says:
It was at an exhibition displaying architectural concepts of mock-up houses at New York’s MOMA Museum, when it suddenly dawned on me: I want to create dollhouses! Beautiful, aesthetic, designer dollhouses with attention to details.
Our dollhouses have an original, unique shape and a gorgeous, carefully designed interior. You won’t find any incidental elements here; each piece of furniture is a tiny version of its real-world equivalent: for example a kitchen drawer, where you can place recipes.
