Stop, Look, Listen 03: 3 things that caught my eye this week

It’s the time of the week when I share my Stop, Look, ListenStop might be a new interiors launch that has stopped me in my tracks, Look might be a new book on my reading list or product on my wishlist, and Listen might be a podcast, TV recommendation, interiors magazine or event that I think you’d like to know about too.

STOP
I came across this hotel on Instagram and it had me immediately looking up Eurostars to Rotterdam. Opened in 2021 by Angel and Manfung Cheung, Hotel âme is a boutique hotel, cafe and concept store for the conscious and modern traveller. Housed in an old 1867 building, the couple have created a calm, soothing space inspired by Japanese and Scandinavian aesthetics. The 14 bedrooms feature bespoke furniture, neutral polished plaster walls, luxurious details and a natural Coco-Mat bed for a guaranteed good night’s sleep. See you there!

LOOK
I love this checked plant pot from Habitat – how cute are the scalloped edges and painted detail? It’s hand-painted too so it has a nice, organic quality. And at £11.25 it’s a steal. Buy here

LISTEN
I’ve had a preview of a new interiors show coming to Channel 4 this Spring and you’re going to want to tune in. Emma Willis and Nick Grimshaw present The Great Home Transformation, a heart-warming six-part series which sees each episode makeover a different family home in just three days. What I like about this show is that it’s not just about trends and good looks, but about creating spaces that solve problems and work for the homeowners, rather than against them. The idea being that if your home doesn’t work properly, then you don’t work properly. It’s also sponsored by IKEA so expect a dose of their much-loved contemporary furniture and some clever solutions for everyday homes.
